CHILDLINE CAN HELP YOU SORT IT OUT!

You can sort out some problems by yourself. Or you can talk to your parents, carers, teachers or other adults you trust, or your friends.

But sometimes problems are too big to handle on your own. Or people won’t listen. Sometimes it’s just too hard to talk to someone you know.

So it can help to call Childline and talk to someone you don’t know, who will really listen.

WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT CHILDLINE?

• It’s a telephone helpline for children and young people 08001111.
• It’s free and you can phone Childline any time, day or night.
• Your call won’t show up on the phone bill (except for some mobile phones).
• You can also write to Childline at: Childline, Freepost 1111, London N1 0BR or Manchester M2 3BB or Nottingham NG1 1BR, and there is a special number for deaf children and those who can’t use a regular phone: 0800 400 222.

SO WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU CALL CHILDLINE?

You can talk about what’s happening, and say how you feel. If that’s all you want, that’s OK. Childline can also try and help you decide what you want to do next, and give you some good ideas about how to sort out your problem.

If you need someone else to help you – like if you’re in danger and you need help right away – Childline can help you with this too.
